Emergency crews were called at 12:51 p.m. Sunday to an unoccupied business near South Sheridan Way and Winston Churchill Blvd. in Mississauga.

Peel Regional Police said the building was on fire when officers and firefighters arrived.

There were no reported injuries.

Investigators said the fire has been deemed “suspicious.”

At 1:24 a.m., crews were also called to a warehouse blaze near Steeles Ave. and Norfinch Dr. in North York.

Toronto Police said the building was engulfed in flames when first responders arrived.

There were no reported injuries.

Police said the cause has not yet been confirmed.

Man arrested in Regent Park stabbing

A man was arrested in Toronto’s Regent Park neighbhourhood after he allegedly ran “around with a knife” and stabbed someone late Saturday night.

Toronto Police said the incident happened shortly after 11 p.m. in the Dundas and Sumach Sts. area.

In a post to the social media platform X, cops said the suspect “approached and stabbed the victim.”

It was not clear whether the victim and suspect are known to each other.

The victim was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Driver charged after vehicle strikes pole

Toronto Police were investigating a crash in the city’s east end after they alleged that an impaired driver slammed their vehicle into a pole early Sunday morning.

Cops said the collision happened at around 3:30 a.m. on Victoria Park near Curlew Dr. and they found a lone occupant in the vehicle at the time before it caught fire.

There were no reported injuries, however, officers said the driver was taken into custody and charged with impaired driving.

Police did not release the driver’s name.
