Overgeared has arrived with a rather delicious twist on the usual power fantasy: its hero does not begin as an unstoppable warrior. He begins as a broke, unlucky gamer who is terrible at the game he desperately wants to conquer. That changes when Shin Youngwoo, better known as Grid, obtains the legendary class of Pagma’s Successor in the VR game Satisfy. Suddenly, crafting the right weapon may matter more than swinging one.

— TVアニメ『テムパル～アイテムの力～』アニメ公式 (@tempal_anime) September 13, 2026One Punch Man studio J.C.STAFF’s adaptation has now begun its Fall 2026 run, bringing Grid’s spectacular rise from virtual nobody to legendary blacksmith to television. Here is everything viewers need to know about the Overgeared Season 1 release schedule, cast, trailer, episode count, and streaming options.
How Many Episodes Will Overgeared Season 1 Have?
Grid (left) from Overgeared. [Credit: J.C. Staff]Overgeared Season 1 is confirmed to have 12 episodes. The episode count was reported through Japanese home-video listings after the anime began airing, with the current international schedule running from September 27 through December 13.
| Episode 1 | September 27, 2026 (Released) |
| Episode 2 | October 4, 2026 (Released) |
| Episode 3 | October 11, 2026 (Upcoming) |
| Episode 4 | October 18, 2026 |
| Episode 5 | October 25, 2026 |
| Episode 6 | November 1, 2026 |
| Episode 7 | November 8, 2026 |
| Episode 8 | November 15, 2026 |
| Episode 9 | November 22, 2026 |
| Episode 10 | November 29, 2026 |
| Episode 11 | December 6, 2026 |
| Episode 12 | December 13, 2026 |
That makes Season 1 a straightforward single-cour Fall 2026 anime rather than an unusually long adaptation. For newcomers, the 12-episode format also gives the series enough room to establish Grid’s miserable starting point, introduce the mechanics of Satisfy, and begin showing why his blacksmithing class can completely change his position within the game’s hierarchy.

What to Expect in Overgeared Episode 3?
Yura from Overgeared. [Credit: J.C. Staff]First of all, viewers should be wary of supposedly “confirmed” plot leaks. What can be safely expected is a continuation of Grid’s first steps as Pagma’s Successor. Episode 2 leaves him dealing with the harsh reality of his new class: possessing legendary blacksmithing potential does not magically make him rich, powerful, or particularly good at using it.
The source material gives a clearer indication of the direction. Grid’s early development involves learning practical blacksmithing, gathering materials, and gradually understanding that his new abilities require actual effort. His encounters with blacksmiths such as Smith become important to that progression. That means Episode 3 is likely to keep the spotlight on Grid’s attempts to turn his absurdly valuable class into something genuinely useful.
What Is Overgeared About?
Overgeared follows Shin Youngwoo, an unlucky young man drowning in debt who spends much of his time inside Satisfy, a massively popular virtual-reality game where success can translate into real-world fame and wealth. Inside the game, Youngwoo plays as Grid. Unfortunately, he is hardly a gaming prodigy. His fortunes change during an extremely difficult quest when he discovers Pagma’s Tome and becomes the successor to the legendary blacksmith Pagma.
There is a catch: gaining the legendary class resets Grid’s level, leaving him dramatically weaker than before. Rather than simply grinding his way back up, Grid discovers that his new class gives him extraordinary potential as a blacksmith. Grid’s power fantasy is not simply about unlocking bigger attacks. He can create increasingly powerful equipment, meaning his greatest weapon may literally be something he makes himself.
The anime stars Tatsumaru Tachibana as Grid, with Asami Seto as Yura, Saya Fukuzumi as Euphemina, Shuntaro Takayama as Huroi, Riho Sugiyama as Jishuka, Masaaki Mizunaka as Toban, Kou Bonkobara as Regas, Masaya Fukunishi as Vantner, Kohei Amasaki as Pon, and Shunichi Toki as Faker. The adaptation is produced by J.C.STAFF, with Ayako Kono directing, Kenta Ihara handling series composition, Ryosuke Tanigawa designing the characters, and Yoshiaki Fujisawa composing the music.
The webtoon comes from Saenal’s web novel, with Monohumbug adapting it and Team Argo providing the artwork. The webtoon won the 2023 Piccoma Award in the SMARTOON category, while Piccoma describes it as a popular action SMARTOON built around Grid’s rise from debt-ridden failure to the top of a 2-billion-player virtual world.
Does Overgeared Have an Official Trailer?
Grid from Overgeared. [Credit: J.C. Staff]Overgeared has released three major promotional videos/PV teasers, with each one offering a different look at the anime. The first teaser PV introduced Grid, the Satisfy world, and his transformation into a legendary blacksmith, while the second teaser expanded the story, action, and fantasy elements. The third promotional teaser leaned further into the anime’s high-octane battles and romance while showcasing more of the supporting cast and the scale of Grid’s journey.
Plus, Crunchyroll has released the first official trailer for Overgeared, giving viewers a much clearer look at Grid’s transformation and the world of Satisfy. The official trailer opens by establishing Shin Youngwoo as an unsuccessful player whose life changes after he obtains the legendary class of Pagma’s Successor.
The footage then shifts toward Grid’s new life inside Satisfy, showcasing his blacksmithing abilities and the powerful equipment he can create. Rather than simply becoming another overpowered fighter, Grid is shown using his unique class to forge weapons and armor capable of changing the balance of power around him.
Below is the official trailer:
The trailer also gives viewers glimpses of the series’ larger cast and the dangers waiting inside Satisfy. Action-heavy shots tease Grid’s battles against powerful opponents, while the visual focus on legendary equipment makes it clear that his greatest advantage is not simply brute strength but his ability to create increasingly powerful gear.
Most importantly, the trailer highlights the scale of Grid’s journey. He begins as a player struggling to make his mark, but Pagma’s Successor gives him an opportunity to become one of the most important figures in the game’s world.
