A 33-year-old Ottawa man faces a number of charges in connection with a fire at a high-rise apartment building in the 1100 block of Cummings Avenue on Aug. 22.
In a release, police said officers were called to the scene at about 7:30 a.m. in response to a disturbance in the apartment building.
Police then called firefighters for assistance in dealing with a fire at the scene.

The fire caused significant damage and left some residents without shelter, police said. One person was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation but did not require hospitalization.
Shawn Lepage has been charged with:
- Arson causing property damage
- Arson endangering life
- Uttering death threats
- Resisting arrest
- Assaulting a police officer (two counts)
He is to appear in court at a later date.
