One woman was killed and three other people wounded by gunfire in a Brampton industrial area on Saturday morning.

Peel Regional Police say officers responded to the shooting in the area of Rutherford Rd. S. – between Glidden and Selby Rds. – around 6 a.m.

Emergency responders located four victims.

Two women reportedly suffered multiple gunshot wounds. One of them died and the other was rushed to a trauma centre in critical condition.

A third woman and a man were taken to hospital with injuries that were not thought to be life-threatening.

Homicide detectives are handling the investigation.
