Official: Juventus land €30m+ Leverkusen wonderkid

Juventus have secured one of Europe's most highly-rated young talents. Bayer Leverkusen winger Kerim Alajbegović is moving to Turin, where he is expected to play a key role in the club's future project.

Juventus have completed the signing of Bayer Leverkusen youngster Kerim Alajbegović, securing one of the most highly-rated talents in European football.

The 18-year-old attacking midfielder will move to Turin after a summer transfer battle that included interest from several clubs across Europe. Juventus ultimately won the race for his signature, with Chelsea also reportedly making a strong push for the Bosnia and Herzegovina international.

According to reports, Juventus will pay Leverkusen a fixed transfer fee of more than €30 million, with additional bonuses potentially increasing the overall package beyond €35 million. The deal makes Alajbegović one of the most expensive 18-year-old players in Bundesliga history.

The move comes after a complicated summer for the youngster. Alajbegović had only recently returned to Leverkusen after the club activated a reported buy-back clause following his spell at RB Salzburg. Despite Bayer's intention to integrate him into the first-team squad, the teenager was reportedly attracted by Juventus' promise of a more significant role.

The transfer story had previously taken several twists. Initially linked with Serie A side Atalanta, Alajbegović eventually became the subject of a battle between Juventus and Chelsea before deciding on a move to Italy.

The versatile attacking player, who can operate on the wing or in an advanced midfield role, impressed with his technical ability, creativity and one-on-one skills. He also represented Bosnia and Herzegovina at the 2026 World Cup, further increasing his profile on the international stage.

For Juventus, the signing represents another major investment in young talent as the Italian giants continue to build for the future. For Bayer Leverkusen, meanwhile, it marks a significant financial return on a player who never made a senior competitive appearance for the club.
