Official: Gladbach sign Swedish talent Mujevic

Swedish U17 international Samin Mujevic has joined Borussia Mönchengladbach.

16-year-old Samin Mujevic officially joined Borussia Mönchengladbach from Malmö. The defensive midfielder will spend next season with Gladbach’s U19 team before the club's plan to integrate him into the first team.

According to Kicker, the transfer sum is between € 300,000 and € 400,000. Mujevic scored two goals in seven appearances for Sweden U17. He has signed a long-term contract with the Bundesliga outfit.

“We are very pleased that Samin (Mujevic) has chosen our path and that we can accompany him specifically in the further development of his skills.” said Mirko Sandmöller, Gladbach’s director of junior performance center. 

Head of Sports Rouven Schröder stressed that the competition for signing international talent has grown in recent years. “More clubs are trying to discover promising young players early on. It speaks to our good scouting and the attraction of the club that he has chosen us.”

“As a young player, of course, it is a difficult decision to leave the family and home behind. But when the offer came from Borussia Mönchengladbach, a large and traditional club, I had to decide. I’m very happy to be here and can’t wait to get started.” said the youngster.
