The 37-year-old shot his only over-par round of the tournament at Augusta National in the final round, falling from three-under to finish at two-over after shooting a closing 77.

“There was really only negatives today, but as a week there will be some positives,” Taylor said after his round. “Yeah, I saw some positive signs tee to green. Great day putting yesterday.
“This has been a lot of the year where there’s a lot of good most weeks, but leave disappointed, knowing that my game is somewhat there. Just got to clean it up a little bit more.”
Taylor teed off Sunday tied for 21st position and looking to move up the leaderboard into the top-12 which would have secured a trip back for next year’s Masters. Instead, he had six bogeys on the day — three in a row beginning at the par-4 ninth — making his only birdie at the 18th hole.
“This place can do it to you, and you think you’re way off,” he said. “I know I’m not that far off, but it sucked doing it today.”
Taylor heads to Hilton Head to play in next week’s RBC Heritage, but said it will take a little time to get over the sting of Sunday at the Masters.

“I’ll take some time, learn from it, and try to build for the next major. But certainly it’s better than missing the cut and banging my head against the wall,” he said of his week.
“It’s always hard when you finish poorly on a Sunday to kind of take the positives for the week, but I’ll take a day or two and keep working on what I’m doing. There was obviously a lot of great golf this week; today just wasn’t it.”
Corey Conners had high hopes for Masters — a tournament where he has finished inside the top 10 four times — but the Listowel, Ont., native did not have his ‘A’ game all week at Augusta National. He shot a Sunday three-over 75 and finished the week at six-over par.
“You have to be really precise,” Conners said. “You know that danger is looming, and if you want to pick some spots to be aggressive, you have to take on some of the trouble. There’s definitely a fine line. Was certainly on the wrong line of that, just a little bit off with some shots, all throughout the week.”
Canada’s only Masters champion Mike Weir missed the cut and will be in the field at next week’s Senior PGA Championship.
