Gavin McKenna, the first-overall pick in the 2026 National Hockey League draft — and the Leafs’ next star — won’t be playing in the prospect tournament in Gatineau, Que., on Saturday and Sunday with the rest of Toronto’s young hopefuls. Toronto Marlies coach Steve Sullivan explained why management made the decision to keep McKenna in Toronto. “What’s best for him is to stay here, continue to train with the NHL players and prepare for a big season,” Sullivan said.

Iran producing ballistic missiles again, long after Operation Epic Fury ended: Report
Iran is making ballistic missiles, once again. According to a report from the Wall Street Journal on Thursday, Tehran is manufacturing both liquid- and solid-fuel missiles, negating what the United States called a major accomplishment of Operation Epic Fury.

Prince Harry is ready to tackle his first public engagements this month since returning to the U.K. The Duke of Sussex will attend WellChild Awards in London on Sept. 21. He has been patron of the charity for seriously ill children, since 2007. He is also set to return to Toronto to take part in a charity skydive for the Sunnybrook Foundation this month, nearly a year after he met and bonded with Ed Marshall, a 102-year-old veteran of the Second World War.
