After their 4-0 win on Sunday evening, Germany will face Finland again on Monday, head coach Julian Nagelsmann surprisingly revealed in a post-match interview.

The 38-year-old explained that the second encounter will be a shortened training match designed primarily to give minutes to players who featured little or not at all in Sunday's game.

“The players have to play again tomorrow. We are playing Finland again – essentially a training match, but another test for us. Not two times 45 minutes, but two times 20 or two times 25, for those who did not play or played less today, to give them some rhythm, because some have not played a match for two weeks. That is why we are very happy that the Finns agreed to this," Nagelsmann told ZDF.

"It will take place with a few fans who won the chance to attend. It will be the next task for us, another important test to give all players the necessary playing time.”

Nagelsmann and his Germany squad will fly to the United States on Tuesday ahead of the World Cup.

Germany's final warm-up match before the tournament comes on Saturday, when they face co-hosts the United States.
