Joshua Kimmich was pleased after Germany ran out comfortable 4-0 winners against Finland in their first World Cup warm-up friendly on Sunday evening.

“We hardly conceded any chances over 90 minutes – in fact, none at all – and we deserved to win," Kimmich said in a post-match interview (via Bundesliga.de).

"We wanted to bring our high pressing onto the pitch as much as possible, and we scored a goal through [Deniz] Undav from that.

“We also scored from a counter-attack and from a set piece. It had everything.”

The Germany captain believes Sunday’s performance highlighted the squad’s potential, with the key now being to unlock it at the World Cup.

“We have a lot of talent, and we need to bring that talent onto the pitch,” he said.
