Ashby Gentry gives Alex a calmer maturity here, and the change suits him better than another round of brother-versus-brother sulking.

Even when Eliot claims he has grown fond of Silver Falls, he continues insisting that Jackie should leave. Naveen Paddock’s character is charming enough to keep the manipulation from becoming cartoonish, but his intentions are plain by the finale. He wants Jackie, and Cole’s breakup gives him a narrow window.

During the 1920s-themed community centre party on Season 3 Episode 10, Eliot kisses Jackie, and she kisses him back. The problem is not that Jackie owes Cole loyalty after he ended things. The problem is that jumping into Eliot’s arms minutes after learning the truth looks less like a decision and more like pain choosing the nearest exit.

Jackie May Leave Silver Falls Before Facing Cole

Jackie’s future remains unsettled beyond the boys. Nathan Walter is considering Europe with the band, Danny Walter and Cole are dealing with college plans, and Jackie no longer appears certain that Princeton is the only acceptable destination. Her work on the community centre suggests that organising events and building local projects may interest her more than the future Richard has mapped out.

A trip to Greece or a temporary return to New York could give Jackie room to breathe. I would rather see her take that pause than tumble from Cole into Eliot and call it progress. Yet Cole’s accident may drag her back toward the hospital trauma she has spent years avoiding. George’s health crisis already tested her ability to remain present during a medical emergency, and Cole’s crash may force her to confront the fear that everyone she loves will eventually disappear.

Cole’s fate is not confirmed during the Season 3 finale. The crash is severe, but the episode cuts away before viewers receive a medical update. I don’t think Cole dies. Noah LaLonde’s character remains too central to Jackie’s story, the Walter family, and the unresolved racing arc for the series to kill him at this stage. The crash is more likely to end his racing career, trigger a long recovery, or force Cole to decide whether chasing danger has become another way of punishing himself.

Danvers deliberately pushes a reluctant Cole into the street race because Cole abandoned their earlier competition to find Jackie, costing Danvers the prize money he expected to win. Danvers also sees Cole as a threat, and his aggression creates the conditions for the collision. Season 4 will almost certainly have to address his responsibility.
