A man was in critical condition on Sunday evening following a stabbing in Mount Royal Park, near Parc Ave. and Côte-Ste-Catherine Rd. in the Ville-Marie borough.

A 911 call was made at around 5:10 p.m. about a man in the park who had been injured. On arriving, police located a man with upper-body injuries caused by an edged weapon, said police spokesperson Jean-Pierre Brabant.

The victim was transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition “and we fear for his life,” he said.

A perimeter has been set up and police investigators and the canine unit were en route to the park to begin their investigation, Brabant said.

No arrests have been made, he said.
