York Regional Police said that around 3:15 p.m., they responded to reports of a dangerous driver in the area of Major Mackenzie Dr. and Yonge St.

Cops said a suspect was dangerously operating a motor vehicle near an ongoing demonstration and struck a food delivery driver who was not involved in the protest and, while fleeing the scene, struck another vehicle.
Authorities alleged that the suspect then stopped his vehicle to yell threats at the demonstrators before being taken into custody.

Police say victim sustained minor injuries and was treated at hospital
The victim was transported to hospital with minor injuries.
Mehran Mohagheghi faces charges of assault with a weapon, dangerous operation, uttering threats and failure to stop after accident.
The investigation is ongoing.
