The WOKE, transgressive and regressive “Left Side” (i.e. all-controlling, with no questioning allowed) is by now the ‘Dark Side’ in Toronto pro looting-criminals, pro drugs, pro public, ahem, disorder and dumps (i.e. pooping), pro menaces riding the subways for free, pro universal bike lanes and choked off traffic on streets like Richmond or Bay, pro snow-choked secondary roads, pro dystopian-post-nuclear-movie-seeming King St. E., pro every community save Jews ‘supporting’ and pro-flag raising — while sanity, sanitary-conditions downtown and common sense are dying in and across our (beloved) Toronto.

(We have an opportunity to change that in the next election, but too many Torontonians are accepting of the current terrible state of the city)

A TRAGEDY

Re “Highrise hell” (Spiro Papuckoski, Aug. 20): First and foremost, I’m truly sorry this family is going through this terrible tragedy. To put a child on a ledge of a window was very dangerous, regardless of the height. It’s not good to teach children that it’s OK to do this. Children climb. Unfortunately, the window broke, whether she had something in her hand or not, she fell to her death. Forty years ago, I had a friend living in those apartments , higher than the 19th floor, also with a two-year-old. They made sure there was nothing the child could push over to climb up to the window ledge, to see outside, without them knowing. They were terrified of the height. These apartments are 57 years old and, to replace all the windows, the rent would be unaffordable for most. Parents are responsible for their child’s safety. What happened to this child was due to an unfortunate, unexpected accident by what her parents did. To put the blame elsewhere won’t bring her back.

(The parents have every right to take the action they are and the evidence of their claim of neglect by the property will be laid out in court for all to see)
