The Ottawa Fire Services’ water-rescue team was dispatched to Britannia Bay on Sept. 5 after multiple 911 calls reported a person in the river yelling for help.

According to the fire service, the calls came in just before 5 p.m., and firefighters quickly arrived at Cassels Street to find a resident struggling to get back to shore. The person had fallen off a jet ski near the Deschênes Rapids.

The team launched their watercraft at the scene, and made the rescue at 5:08 p.m.
