I read Brian Lilley’s June 22 column about poor little Brady Tkachuk being pushed out of Ottawa because of anti-American sentiment. Well, boo hoo. If he bleeds red, white and blue he will be much happier living south of the border and Canadian hockey fans will see less of his dirty play and hear less of his whining. He is just another American bully and while I disagree with booing any country national anthem, let’s not forget the reason there is so much anti-American sentiment in this country.

NO PROTECTION

Re “Ontario at full speed” (Gordon Anderson, June 25): Increased speed limits? Banned speed enforcement cameras? A health-care system built for a 20th-, possibly 19th-century province? Doug Ford et ilk spend tons of our money telling us how they protect Ontario. But what about Ontarians?

MAKE WORK PROJECT

The high speed rail project is an excellent example of a “make-work” project. It will provide a lot of sales to suppliers and work for skilled trades people. However, it will be financed from borrowed money and in my opinion will never be profitable under any circumstances! If it were profitable, then why is there no private investment coming forward? Concentrate on the export of oil and LNG, minerals, etc. that generate real wealth and stop borrowing money to finance make-work projects. But the Liberals don’t want to do that as it’s too much hard work! Mark Carney is Justin Trudeau 2.0 – another economic disaster.
