TRUE LEADERSHIP
Re “Does Pierre Poilievre actually want to be prime minister” (Brian Lilley, July 7): Lilley offers his opinion as if we should expect strong character-based leadership qualities from Poilievre despite his experience as a lifetime attack-dog politician with very little true leadership experience outside the political arena. Truly hoping the Conservative Party will come to their senses and offer a true option for prime minister.

(There are rumours some may be organizing against him, if that is indeed the case, we don’t know who yet. But a lot of things have happened to put his leadership in jeopardy)

KNIFE WOUND
Almost every day someone gets stabbed in Toronto with a knife. We think it is time for everyone to register all knives, including kitchen knives, to stop this criminality. Every knife holder should be licensed like gun owners. While the government is at it, they should do the same for baseball bats. A two by four, shorter than 8 feet, could become a deadly weapon.

(You have just demonstrated why gun registries don’t work and only punish lawful owners)

LATE TO ACT
Re “Failed climate plan needs forensic audit” (Editorial, July 3): Auditing the failed Trudeau climate plan is a good step. What we need to think about goes back to 2016 and the start of not seeing LNG export as a good business plan from someone who never worked for a living. My hindsight says if we started and grew our LNG exports and supported the transition to gas then, we would have contributed to a measurable greenhouse gases reduction in countries burning coal for electricity and to our economy. Canada’s climate is paying because GHG do not know borders.

(Yet another idiotic decision by Trudeau coming back to haunt our country)
