POPPING OFF
Re “Canadians need to stop cutting down our tall poppies” (Kevin Vuong, Aug. 4): It’s a terrible choice to call the richest people in our country tall poppies. A reminder that poppies signify our working-class forefathers who fought in the First World War. The poppy symbolizes their sacrifice and our remembrance. A billionaire is not a poppy. He has made no sacrifice for us. He has not died on Flanders Fields. He is no Canadian hero.

Re “Fair play for female athletes isn’t ‘anti-trans'” (Editorial, Aug. 7): Are ‘big for their age’ young girls allowed to play in their age group on boys’ teams? Would they be replacing a smaller, talented boy who is hoping to move on to a rep team? Could a bigger girl overpower a smaller boy in house league? I am years past knowing anything about children’s sports leagues, but would this answer some questions without getting into any ‘trans’ debates?

After watching Anthony Fauci refuse to answer basic questions concerning his devious role during the COVID-19 crisis, l wondered why our destructive PM Justin Trudeau escaped similar scrutiny and investigations. His lack of leadership, dismissive attitude towards those strong enough to protest, and his condescending policies caused Canadians to live in fear and mistrust of one another. Maybe if our media was more diligent in reporting the truth about COVID, Trudeau would be bunny jumping in jail!
