THE GLOBALIST VIEW
Now that the federal Liberals have secured a majority government, will we be exposed to a globalist agenda that contradicts that of our major trading partner? Globalism’s end goal seems to be toward a world-governing model. Has anyone asked Mark Carney’s opinion about this? Does the average Canadian citizen understand this? The values Carney espouses in his book seem to include an adaptation of the equality, diversity and inclusion model, which has been shunned by the world’s largest and most successful companies. The leftist view of equality extends to quality of outcomes. So, regardless of one’s input in support of results ( effort, risk, capital, ability, etc), everyone is entitled to an equal outcome. Do Canadians understand and want a governmental system that minimizes the individual and, more broadly, individualism in favour of equal outcomes for everyone despite merit? Many questions about our new majority government that should be answered.

(It’s for all of these reasons that playing footsie with the idea of Canada joining the EU is a terrible idea)
TIP THE BALANCE
One thing that I admired about the Chretien, Martin and Harper, Flaherty team is that they saw financial reality through the same lens as me. You can’t spend yourself to prosperity. Both teams balanced the budget and we were better off because of it. Government can’t give you something that they don’t first take from you. Balance matters. Debt matters and budgets don’t magically self budget.

(It’s a Trudeau era hangover of magical thinking budgets balance themselves. But it seems most Canadians. Don’t share your concern about debts and deficits. Too many people just like the spending)
PLANE DRAIN
Had Premier Doug Ford shown what was spent on air trips for him and senior cabinet ministers last year compared to what all those trips would have cost with a private jet, and the savings were substantial, there would have been no issue. If the savings were not, then the government would have done their due diligence.

(This entire debacle was a communications nightmare. Ford could have made the case but didn’t. Instead he has days of bad press and backtracked. At least we got the money back)
