TAKING CARE OF THEMSELVES
Jerry Agar, great column, calling out these floor crossers for exactly who they are (“Floor crossers are all in it for themselves,” April 14). These politicians walked across the floor without a single thought about the Canadian taxpayers who voted them into office. They walked for their own personal gains, nothing else, as Agar says, “The Liberals have accepted people of low character.” Hopefully taxpayers will remember what was identified in Agar’s column — each of these floor-crossing politicians represents one thing: Self preservation, their future, their income, their pensions. The only floor crossing that should happen in the future is when hardworking Canadians show each of these self-preservation politicians the path across the floor to the exit. Don’t let the door hit you on the way out.

(There are no consequences for the floor crossers. The next election will be years away and memories are short. But really the question for those that went to the Liberals – what were you promised? For the most part they got their moment when they crossed – now they are just another backbencher)

CROSSING THE LINE
Since the rule of democracy is now truly broken, please advise MP Pierre Poilievre and his whole Conservative Party to cross the floor! Who knows, since the Liberals have implemented various Conservative ideas, we can be on track to Make Canada Great Again from within. Is it not the way to have peaceful revolution? But watch out, the left-side foundation of the Parliament building may sink into the Ottawa River.

COST OF THE LINE
I’m an ordinary Canadian who is having a hard time understanding how spending roughly $90 billion on a high-speed rail line between Toronto and Quebec City makes sense right now. Across the country, people are struggling. The cost of groceries keeps climbing, housing feels out of reach for younger families, and interest rates have squeezed just about everyone. At the same time, our health-care system is stretched thin, and basic infrastructure in many communities is aging or inadequate.
