The latest death within Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War part 3 was of Nemu Kurotsuchi, serving as a lieutenant of the 12th Division of the Gotei 13, under Captain Mayuri Kurotsuchi. Nemu was one of the most underrated characters in the Bleach narrative with a silent and shy personality. But her recent actions in the latest Bleach episode have left fans speechless.

She made the sacrifice of her life in order to save her captain, and this has earned her a lot of love and appreciation from the fans of the series. So much so that fans have gone to the lengths of calling her the best lieutenant within the Bleach universe, replacing big names like Rangiku Matsumoto.

Nemu’s Ultimate Sacrifice For Mayuri Kurotsuchi

The Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War anime series saw the release of Episode 10, titled “Baby, Hold Your Hand 2,” on December 7, 2024. The episode continued the fight between Mayuri and Pernida Parnkgjas, the left-hand of Soul King and a member of Yhwach’s Squad 0, with Mayuri being on the losing end. However, it also saw the inclusion of Nemu.

Seeing her captain face defeat, Nemu decided to intervene in the battle and save Mayuri. She worked along with Mayuri to inject poison into Pernida’s nerves to defeat him, but the plan seemingly failed as Pernida evolved and saved himself from the effects of the poison. This left Nemu with no choice but to sacrifice herself and take down Pernida.

She burst through Pernida’s arm and blew him apart, but even this attempt failed as Pernida started devouring Nemu as he regained consciousness. But this was a mistake, as Nemu’s body caused accelerated regeneration within Pernida, which led to his self-destruction. Thus, Nemu’s death led to the destruction of one of the strongest Quincies in the Bleach universe.

Nemu’s Sacrifice Gained Her A New Title

Although Nemu and Mayuri’s relationship is quite toxic, her sacrifice in taking down Pernida and saving her captain led to the character gaining a lot of respect. She proved herself by not only committing to her duty but also indirectly portraying the unique bond she had with Mayuri.

Bleach fans were startled to see Nemu’s ultimate sacrifice and praised her for taking down one of the strongest villains within the Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War storyline.

Fans took to Reddit to express their opinion, where some appreciated the storyline and Nemu’s development and others gave her the title of the best lieutenant in the Bleach universe.

Nemu’s death has had a big impact on the Bleach narrative, and it has made the upcoming storyline even more intriguing. Fans will have to wait until December 14, 2024, for episode 11 to see how Tite Kubo takes the story forward.
