LAPD arrests singer D4vd in connection to teen homicide case

D4vd arrest: The singer has been taken into custody in connection with the alleged teen murder case after a badly decomposed body was discovered in the trunk of a Tesla registered in his name, authorities confirmed Thursday.

The artist, whose real name is David Burke, remains in custody without bail as the Los Angeles police investigation continues to unfold.

The case traces back to September 2025, when Celeste Rivas Hernndez, a 14-year-old reported missing in 2024, was found dead inside the impounded Tesla. According to ABC News, the arrest is based on probable cause and evidence gathered over several months, although no formal charges have been filed.

Authorities confirmed the case will be submitted to the district attorney's office for review, where a decision on potential charges will be made.

Investigators faced significant challenges determining the cause of death due to the condition of the body. However, officials say they now have enough evidence to classify the case as a homicide.

The body was discovered on September 8 in a Hollywood impound lot after reports of a strong odor coming from the vehicle. The abandoned Tesla had been towed days earlier before the grim discovery in the front trunk.

D4vd, who gained fame on TikTok and built a massive following, was on his "Withered" world tour at the time. Following the incident, multiple shows - including stops in San Francisco and Los Angeles - were canceled.
