In a surprising twist, a settlement was reached on September 11, according to court documents. Poplawski, who had accused Ye of assault and battery, informed the court that the agreement covered the entire case.

At the time of the filing, Poplawski's lawyer detailed the incident, accusing the rapper of physically assaulting his client with clear intent to cause harm. 

The lawyer alleged that Ye violently struck Poplawski multiple times, leaving him "severely" injured and defenseless during the attack. According to documents obtained by In Touch, Poplawski's legal team noted that the injuries he sustained were not just physical but deeply emotional. 

They cited "past and future non-economic damages," including "physical pain, mental suffering, loss of enjoyment of life, disfigurement, physical impairment, inconvenience, grief, anxiety, humiliation, and severe emotional distress."

The incident, which took place on January 13, 2022, outside Soho Warehouse, escalated when Ye allegedly began yelling at Poplawski, declaring, "I'm going to make a f—ing example out of you."

Poplawski, who claimed he had previously obtained West's autograph without issue, said the confrontation took a violent turn when Ye refused to apologize for his outburst. 

According to the lawsuit, the father-of-four struck Poplawski several times. Despite the allegations, Ye has steadfastly denied any wrongdoing.

His legal team argued that the 47-year-old's actions were in self-defense, with his attorney stating, "Ye was justified in doing any and/or all of the acts alleged in the Complaint."

They contended that Ye acted "reasonably and in good faith at all times material herein, based on all relevant facts and circumstances known to Ye at the time Ye so acted."
