Jürgen Klopp’s leaked email reveals message to former Germany internationals

Bild claims to have obtained an email sent by Jürgen Klopp to all former Germany internationals.

Ahead of his debut as Germany head coach against the Netherlands on Thursday, Jürgen Klopp has reportedly sent an email to all former Germany internationals, asking for their support.

“I would be very pleased if you continued to accompany and support our national team in its fresh start on the road to the 2028 European Championship. Because we are all the national team,” Klopp wrote in the email, according to Bild.

Klopp never represented Germany as a player, but is now part of the national team in a different role. He made it clear how much of a privilege it is to represent his country as head coach and to recognise the achievements of those who came before him.

“I was miles away from being called up as a player; today, as national team coach, I am allowed to make those selections myself. That is a great privilege that I greatly appreciate. Just as I can't overstate how highly I value your achievements,” he wrote.

“I'm incredibly proud to have been part of the DFB family since August 15. Your family.”

Germany have four UEFA Nations League games coming up, starting with Thursday’s clash against the Netherlands in Amsterdam.
