“The absolute best dad in the world. So caring and loving. The best partner to go through parenthood with,” wrote Meredith.

“John never missed a single appointment. Was the best at putting the baby to sleep and the Apple of Noa’s eye. I love how much she looks like him. We are going to make you proud. We love you so so so much daddy.”

Gaudreau’s brother Matthew was also killed Thursday. He leaves behind his pregnant wife, Madeline.

A GoFundMe for Matthew’s family had already reached more than $280,000 — exceeding the $30,000 goal on Saturday

The Gaudreau brothers were in their home state of New Jersey for their sister’s wedding, which was scheduled for Friday, People Magazine reported. The wedding was later cancelled.

The Gaudreau brothers were fatally struck by an alleged drunk driver Thursday night.

Police identified the suspect as Sam Higgins. He is facing charges of two counts of vehicular homicide, the Columbus Dispatch reported.

Higgins was ordered to remain in custody until his next hearing on Sept. 5, per the Dispatch.
