It's been 30 years since Friends first aired, but for Jennifer Aniston, the memories and connection to the tv show remain as strong as ever. The 55-year-old actress, best known for her role as Rachel Green, describes the iconic 90s sitcom as the "biggest gift" of her life and admits she still misses it every single day.
Despite a successful Hollywood career since Friends, Aniston revealed that nothing compares to her time on the show. When asked about her favourite job on the SmartLess podcast, she said, "Obviously Friends - that's a no-brainer." She fondly recalled the show's filming schedule, calling it "the best schedule ever on the planet."
However, Aniston is hesitant about returning to a sitcom, acknowledging that nothing could replicate the experience she had with her co-stars Lisa Kudrow, Courteney Cox, David Schwimmer, Matt LeBlanc, and the late Matthew Perry.
"If I knew it would be the same experience as I had with those guys, yes, but I doubt that will ever happen," she shared, reflecting on the close bond they developed both on and off the screen.
A cultural phenomenon
The show, which aired from 1994 to 2004, became a cultural phenomenon and is still cherished by fans worldwide. A massive 52 million Americans tuned in for the finale, solidifying Friends as one of the most successful TV shows of all time.
"It's so strange to think that it's 30 years old," Aniston said, recalling the excitement of its premiere and its enduring popularity.
While Friends brought her immense fame and fortune, Aniston has faced personal challenges in the years since. She endured two high-profile divorces and publicly shared her struggles with infertility.
Despite these hurdles, Aniston remains focused on her career, having recently starred in and produced The Morning Show. Today, she enjoys a peaceful life in Los Angeles, surrounded by her rescue dogs and close friends, continuing to embrace her success while cherishing the lasting legacy of Friends.
