The fate of The Witcher is literally at stake. After the series gained prominence and maintained the same in the last three seasons, it seems to be moving towards a downfall. At first, it was Henry Cavill’s exit from the action fantasy series, and now, the marketing team is lagging behind. A few fan reactions suggest that the show’s Season 4 did not get enough promotions.
While fans were eagerly waiting to see Liam Hemsworth take up the role of Geralt of Rivia, after Cavill left some big shoes to fill, many did not know the season was already available on Netflix. Several such fans took to social media and described their startled emotions online following the release of the latest season on Netflix.

His words further read, “I’m guessing the chemistry isn’t gonna be the same w Yennifer.” While a fourth comment read.
“Oh sh**, is it out?”
Looking at the stunned reaction the fans expressed online, it directly points towards how the marketing team behind The Witcher Season 4 lacked in promotions. Even on the Instagram of Netflix, the top outings that are being promoted are Stranger Things Season 5 and the streamer’s upcoming horror film Frankenstein.
The aforementioned film will star Oscar Isaac, Mia Goth, Christoph Waltz, along with Jacob Elordi, while being helmed by Guillermo del Toro. Other outings that the streamer has been promoting in recent days are Monsters: The Ed Gein Story, House of Dynamite, and Nobody Wants This.

Why Did Henry Cavill Leave The Witcher?
Cavill announced his departure from The Witcher back in 2022, sending shockwaves across the industry, as well as the die-hard fanbase of the series and the actor. Following his exit announcement, Hemsworth was rumored to take over the role.
Soon, fans began to speculate reasons behind his departure, which was announced by the actor on Instagram. Per USA Today, fans believed that his exit had something to do with the creative differences between him and the producers. Unilad also reports that Cavill had committed to be associated with the series for a whopping seven seasons, as long as the show picked its story from the source material.
However, with no basis for these rumors, executive producer Lauren Hissrich spoke to Entertainment Weekly, explaining Cavill’s exit. “Cavill personally wanted to end his time as Geralt,” Hissrich stated. Further in his statement to the outlet, the executive producer mentioned,
“He had plans for other roles that he really wanted to commit himself to. And for us, you don’t want to hold someone and force them to be doing something that they don’t want to do. I think that’s why it felt like a really symbiotic decision.”
After announcing his exit, Cavill was seen in many major outings, including Argylle, which also starred Bryce Dallas Howard, Sam Rockwell, and even Dua Lipa. His other recent films are Guy Ritchie’s The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare and the MCU banger, Deadpool & Wolverine, in which he had a cameo.
Let us know what you think of The Witcher Season 4 and, of course, about Liam Hemsworth picking up Geralt’s new journey.
