The third season of Tite Kubo’s Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War anime series was finally concluded with the end of 2024. The series was one of the biggest anime productions of the past year, and it exceeded expectations in a way that no Bleach fan had anticipated. However, the series still has one more season left, which will likely be released this year or next year.

It is safe to say that the fourth season of Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War will mark the end of the Bleach anime series. But the sad part is that fans believe it might be the end of Bleach as a franchise, which has been going strong since 2001. While fans may feel a little disappointed by this, there is a possibility that Kubo might use the Thousand-Year Blood War as an opportunity.

This was hinted at by Masakazu Morita, the voice actor of Kurosaki Ichigo, the protagonist of the Bleach franchise. In a special message for the fans during the release of the third season of Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War, Morita dropped a slight hint about the possibility of Bleach getting further development in the future.

Masakazu Morita’s special message for Bleach fans

The official website of the Bleach anime series recently shared a special interview with the voice actors Morita and Noriaki Sugiyama, the voice actor of Uryu Ishida. During the interview, the voice actors discussed their journey through Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War and gave a special message to Bleach fans regarding the third season.

Morita stated:

Those who watched the third season to the end may still have some vague feelings, such as the “conflict” throughout the third season, the conflict between others and themselves, and the conflict within themselves that cannot be resolved. However, I think that will turn into a sense of exhilaration when you finish watching the fourth season, which is the true final chapter. Personally, I don’t think it will end with just exhilaration.

As most of the storylines in the third season ended on a cliffhanger, Morita assured fans that this was not the end of the series. He pointed out that the fourth season will resolve all the conflicts that fans have with season 3 of Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War.

Not only that, he even praised the quality of the third season and pointed out the feelings that were unraveled with it. Hopefully, it will only get better from here but fans will have to wait for the fourth season to find out.

Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War might not be the end

While talking about the fourth season, which might be the final chapter of Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War storyline, Morita dropped a major hint about the future of the series. He pointed out that he doesn’t feel that Bleach is over at all. In fact, he thinks it might just be the beginning.

Morita stated:

I hope that vague feeling will become the energy to reach the final conclusion. The third season of the four-part series of the “Thousand-Year Blood War Arc” series has ended, but I don’t feel like it’s over at all, and I think it’s just beginning. I hope you will look forward to the fourth season and the future of “BLEACH.”

Morita’s special message to Bleach fans hinted that Bleach might have a future even after the fourth season of Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War. This means that the story might continue even after the defeat of Yhwach.

Although there is the Echoing Jaws of Hell arc which succeeds Thousand-Year Blood War, Morita’s hint might be to a future that includes a new storyline by Tite Kubo for the Bleach anime and manga series.

Bleach is available to watch on Hulu.
