Abby Baffoe isn’t losing sleep over what people think of her Masters outfit. In fact, she’s leaning into the backlash.

According to the New York Post, the influencer clapped back at critics after her look at Augusta National sparked debate online. She posted a cheeky six-second TikTok video to her 1.4 million followers on Monday, captioned, “Won worst dresses masters 2026.”

In the clip, she struts toward the camera, tongue out and flashing a peace sign, with text reading, “When you wake up getting canceled for your masters outfit,” set to Miranda Lambert’s Only Prettier.

How backlash started

The pushback came after Baffoe shared photos and videos from the tournament, reports People, where she wore a Chanel top, white mini-shorts, sneakers, and a knit sweater draped over her shoulders. She completed the look with a baseball cap, sunglasses, and a Chanel purse, noting in her caption that the outfit was “vintage Chanel.”

The video showing off her outfit racked up more than 2 million views — and plenty of criticism, according to People.

“Tell me it’s your first time at the Masters without telling me it’s your first time at THE MASTERS..😑” one user wrote. Baffoe didn’t dodge it, replying: “It’s my first time at the masters.”

Another commenter added, “Please research the appropriate attire for this event.”

Did she actually break any dress-code rules?

Still, the 30-year-old creator — who has built a following of 513,000 on Instagram and 1.4 million on TikTok through her “Get Ready With Me” content — doesn’t appear to have actually broken any rules, reports the Daily Mail. Despite its buttoned-up reputation, Augusta National Golf Club doesn’t enforce a strict dress code for Masters patrons.

According to the tournament’s official website, the key advice is practical: Dress for the weather, wear light layers for April temperatures that can swing from 27C to 10C, and opt for comfortable, water-resistant shoes — just no “metal spikes” or “pointed heels.”

Strict cell-phone policy

One rule that is strictly enforced, however, as previously reported in the Toronto Sun, is the no-phone policy.

Former British Open champion Mark Calcavecchia was reportedly removed from the grounds on April 8, after being caught using his cell phone. When reached for comment, the 65-year-old told Golfweek‘s Adam Schupak: “I’ve got nothing negative to say about Augusta National Golf Club and the Masters, so I think we should literally hang up right now.”

The ban on cell phones inside Augusta’s gates is one of the tournament’s most unusual traditions and can take some getting used to, per the Toronto Sun.

“I’ve never gone this long without knowing what I look like,” one young woman said, asking friends how her hair looked.

Another attendee wondered aloud if there’s anywhere else on Earth where such a large group of people is without their phones.
