I. Twilight Grotto Cave Treasure Chest
The first method to obtain the Volcanic Eruption Abyss Gear is by looting the Scorchflame Plate Gloves from a Treasure Chest located inside the Twilight Grotto Cave (between Hernand and Demeniss). This waterfall cave is located southeast of the Hills of No Return in Hernand. Use the Blue Ripple Hearth camp as your landmark. Once you’re there, look for the waterfall with a stack of rocks in front of it.
Head towards the waterfall and use your charged Stab attack at a precise angle (R1+Triangle on PlayStation/RB+Y on Xbox) to get inside the waterfall cave. Keep going further inside until you come across a Treasure Chest, then open it to acquire the Scorchflame Plate Gloves. The Volcanic Eruption Abyss Gear will be embedded in the Gloves.
II. Tristan the Flame Knight
The second method to acquire the Scorchflame Plate Gloves is by defeating Tristan the Flame Knight inside the Flame Knight’s Castle in the western part of Demeniss. To beat him efficiently, consistently stagger him using Force Palm and evade incoming attacks by Parrying or Dodging.
Tristan can be a major inconvenience if you’re not using Force Palm between your attacks and combos. Having a top-tier build will allow you to defeat Tristan without breaking a sweat. After you’ve defeated him, you’ll receive the Scorchflame Plate Gloves. To make Tristan appear in the Castle, make sure you have completed Chapter 6 and followed through the Letter of Silence faction quest of House Azerian.
