How to Get Shadow Claw in Crimson Desert?

Crimson Desert is absolutely packed with powerful Abyss Gears that can change the whole flow of your fight, and Shadow Claw is one of the most sought-after among them. This melee Abyss Gear unleashes a three-hit combo on heavy attacks, making it one of the best to obtain if you follow an aggressive playstyle.

Getting it, however, requires you to put in some effort. In this guide, we cover everything you need to know, from unlocking the right quest chain under House Celeste Faction to defeating the Black Fang boss to claim your reward.

Prerequisites for Unlocking Shadow Claw In Crimson Desert

Shadow Claw, as discussed before, triggers three wolf-like claw swipes forward whenever you use a heavy attack. It stands out among Abyss Gears thanks to its high burst damage, and unlike many others, this one is dropped by a specific boss.

However, before you can go after the Shadow Claw, you must unlock the Legendary Wolf quest chain under the House Celeste Faction. This requires completing several earlier faction quest chains in sequence, with each one of them unlocking only after the previous one is finished. Once these are done, the Legendary Wolf quest chain will become available.

Where to Find the Legendary Wolf (Black Fang) In Crimson Desert And Claim Shadow Claw

Progress through the Legendary Wolf quest chain until you reach Howls from the North Gate. This is the key quest where you’ll earn Shadow Claw. Head to the Hernandian Ruins, located west of Drakesfall Gorge and southeast of The Ancient Rift. Once you reach the marked location, take out your lantern and follow the glowing trail to track the wolf’s footprints.

The trail will lead you northwest of the Hernandian Ruins, up a hill, where you’ll come face-to-face with Black Fang, the Legendary Wolf.

Black Fang can be one of the hardest bosses to defeat in Crimson Desert, depending on how far you have progressed in the game. It enters the fight flanked by wolf underlings, and it is best recommended to use a two-handed sword or any weapon with AoE damage to deal with these extra enemies.

After defeating Black Fang, a short cutscene will play, and Shadow Claw will be added to your inventory as a guaranteed drop. Slot it into any melee weapon of your choice to start using it.
