Minecraft villages are a core part of the gameplay. No matter which Minecraft edition you have been grinding, a village is something you need to locate to survive, specifically the ruthless nights. As soon as it is dark, mobs spawn, and they are deadly. Therefore, the initial survival process requires players to locate a village.

Anyway, villages aren’t completely safe from in-game hostility. There are often raids in the village, which destroy everything. Therefore, as soon as you figure out how villages work in Minecraft and how you can save them from raids, your survival process will be smoother.

Where to Find Minecraft Villages?

The answer is that Minecraft villages can be found anywhere in the in-game world. From the snow-filled mountains to the riverbanks of the Plains, villages can be found anywhere in the in-game world. Precisely, there’s no impossible weather condition. 

Like renowned hardcore survival games, Minecraft takes players to a hostile world full of dangers, and among the given resources, villages are undoubtedly one of the best. The moment you spawn in the in-game world, the first thing you should look for is a village. 

The trick here is that villages spawn throughout all the biomes of the game, but the locations are always random. Because the spawn is arbitrary, sometimes you can find two villages extremely close to each other, and other times, they are miles apart. 

Anyway, the finding process requires exploration. If you find a village near your spawn location, it would be a really fortunate thing.

How Does a Minecraft Village Work?

The most important things that villages provide players with are shelter, beds, and food supplies. As soon as you enter a village, you can take any house you prefer and use the bed to sleep at night. Once you sleep on a bed, it will become your spawn point. The next time you die, you will spawn right on the bed. 

Villages generally have multiple houses and farms. Fortunately, players can loot everything. Each house in a village contains one or more than one chest, which can have a wide range of items that players can collect. From breads to papers to arrows, and more valuable items can be found from villagers’ chests. 

The most important thing that players shouldn’t miss while in a village is trading. Traders often roam around in the villages, and players can purchase some necessary items in exchange for emeralds, gold, or something else. Players can even place Profession Blocks on the villagers to trade with them. 

Aside from roaming around an existing village, players can create their own village in Minecraft. To do so, first, build a house and place a bed. Now, bring a villager from the nearby village and let him stay in the house. You can use the boat method or the minecart process to bring them to your village. As long as there’s a bed, they won’t run away. 

If you have a bed and you bring two villagers together, they can breed to increase the population. You only need to arrange the bed for them food for them. If you assign them farmer jobs, later you don’t even need to worry about farming. They will do it. 

How to Survive Raids in Minecraft?

Raids are pretty challenging to survive. Because the villagers don’t have much health and literally zero defense skills, they will all die if a raid happens. Therefore, you must ensure their safety during a raid. 

Fortunately, raids are not random processes; instead, players are responsible for summoning a raid. If you kill a patrol captain, you will receive the Bad Omen status effect, and once you enter a village with this status effect, a raid will begin, and it will spawn five waves of challenging enemies. The level of your status effect will decide the level of the raid’s difficulty.

Raids do a lot of destruction, and the best way to survive the raid is to drink milk to get rid of the status effect and prevent the raid. However, if that’s not an option for you, get prepared with at least iron armor and powerful weapons. We would even suggest you have Iron Golems in your village to fight the raiders. 

Additionally, you can place lava or other kinds of traps all around your village to keep it safe from the raiders. No mob can cross the lava pool. You need to be careful while entering or leaving the village area as well. Your character also can’t survive in the lava pool.
