Is Diddy‘s celebrity status doing more harm than good behind bars?
The incarcerated music producer was reportedly living fly behind bars, enjoying more privileges than a regular inmate. It was brought to light that he had access to a contraband cellphone, alcohol, and inmates who performed personal tasks for him while serving his sentence at FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey.
Diddy was found guilty of two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. He was convicted in July 2025 and sentenced to 50 months in federal prison.
Diddy Reportedly Threw Down With A Jamaican Drug Lord
Xavier Collin/Image Press Agency/MEGA Diddy went on an emergency ambulance trip early Saturday morning from the New Jersey facility to get treatment for a head injury. The ambulance came to take the rapper for medical intervention after he busted his head during a prison brawl.
Insiders revealed that the injury he sustained was not life-threatening, and he was conscious and able to speak when he returned to jail a few hours later. Although Diddy was not looking at catching his last breath as a result of the blow, it was quite severe and could not be treated within the prison.
According to multiple sources inside Fort Dix who spoke to TMZ, the musician and an infamous inmate threw punches that resulted in the head injury. The other inmate has been identified as Christopher Coke, who is a Jamaican drug lord and goes by the alias “Dudus.”
All Hell Broke Loose After The Rapper’s Lavish Life Became A Hot Topic
ZUMAPRESS.com / MEGAPrison clashes are not new, and they can be triggered for many reasons. In Diddy’s recent case, the fight reportedly stemmed from him getting other inmates in trouble.
Insiders revealed that Dudus took a swing at the disgraced record producer because he, as well as other inmates, were pissed at Diddy for exposing their prison lifestyle, which they previously kept on the low.
After it made headlines that the music executive had been getting special treatment with access to some contraband objects, prison officials have conducted at least 2 raids and confiscated cell phones from inmates, including Dudus.
Dudus has been serving a 23-year sentence since 2012 and was not pleased that all his fringe benefits vanished after the raids. Both of them have reportedly been placed in solitary confinement for a 2-week punishment.

This Is Not The Record Producer’s First Prison Clash
Xavier Collin/Image Press Agency/MEGA The Special Housing Unit was not new for Diddy, as he was already placed there after the prison raid and the contraband was confiscated. The fight went down when he went out for his daily break. The Blast shared that, with traction around this recent fight, a probe into his prison record showed that he was engaged in other jail fights.
His disciplinary records show that he was engaged in an altercation on October 1, which left a major violation on his record. The details of the scuffle were not revealed, including the other parties involved and why it began.
Jose Rojas, a union secretary representing Bureau of Prisons employees, disclosed that Diddy was also written up for fighting over the past few months. He had an incident on July 31 and another on September 30. These recurrent jail fights do not help his case and could lead prison officials to classify Diddy as a “disruptive” inmate.
The 56-Year-Old Spent Time In Solitary After The July Fight
Xavier Collin/Image Press Agency/MEGAThe Blast reported in July that Diddy was in the SHU after an alleged altercation with an inmate. The solitary confinement, often referred to as “the hole,” was home to the rapper for a while after he threw fists at an inmate who allegedly dissed him.
Time in disciplinary segregation is reportedly not pleasant, as Diddy lost access to major privileges, with prison officials likely taking away his personal belongings. Although he had basic necessities at his disposal with regular visits from medical staff, his freedom behind bars was highly limited.
This came shortly after a former child performer filed a lawsuit accusing Diddy of sexually abusing him during an industry networking event in the Hollywood Hills nearly two decades ago. Meanwhile, Diddy has been appealing his 2025 conviction and trying to get out of prison before his projected March 2, 2028 release date.
Diddy Lost More Than His Prison Freedom With Recent Fight
ZUMAPRESS.com / MEGAThe two weeks in solitary confinement seem to be just the tip of the iceberg of the consequences Diddy faces. According to Rojas, the music executive also lost 41 days of good-conduct time.
He explained that “This is among the most serious penalties,” and since the music mogul was reportedly found with a cellphone, he was slammed with the sanction. Rojas offered more insight into why the cellphone violation is considered a significant threat. “Because you can put a hit on somebody with a phone in prison,” Rojas stated.
The Blast reported that Diddy used the mobile device to access social media platforms like Instagram and view sexually explicit images sent by a former girlfriend. He also had a modified tablet and premium liquor, all of which are not allowed behind bars.
