Hear Me Out, Call of Duty Ghosts Is the Most Underappreciated COD Game

2 hours ago 8

The world wasn’t ready to appreciate Call of Duty Ghosts when it first released; it isn’t now either. There’s been a lot of hate around it for the game for several years, and communities are rife with comments that aren’t really heartwarming.

It feels like they were paid well to spread hate. None of them appear genuine. I know the series has gone bad, but Ghosts was always on top of everything. How can you even think of something bad when it’s the manifestation of Simon ‘Ghost’ Riley? People need to appreciate the fact that Ghost came back.

Call of Duty Ghosts Was Always a Gem People Didn’t Pay Attention To

Yes, I remembered Yuri going with the flow when the city was flooded, but I never saw a dam being blasted off by a SAM. Or the strobe lights to take those enemies down on Federation Day. Where’s innovation, they say, really? Or it’s just the hate towards Call of Duty speaking?

Tell me which one in the series allowed you to walk down the building. Hell, it was the first time we were able to kill everywhere—on land, in space, and in water, for that matter. And Riley? Do you really want to forget the brave dog soldier?

Last time I checked, it was Sam Witwicky and the US soldiers trying to escape a falling building in Dark of the Moon. And I don’t remember hijacking a plane mid-air in a game or even movie. Please suggest some if there are any.

It’s the campaign that got the most hate from fans, and that’s what prompts me to think, where’s the brains in it? Even the Extinction mode, it was something Activision could’ve expanded upon instead of going all on Zombies. They at least liked that.

There was this cycle of similar games coming out every year, and Infinity Ward’s game broke that. Maybe now that people are getting to know how bad games have gone, they will finally appreciate Ghosts now. Actually, it would be great; it hasn’t been too late now.

There are a couple of things in my mind as we advance in the Call of Duty journey. I am thinking about a couple of rumors. First is the game’s sequel; another one was a potential game revolving around Simon ‘Ghost’ Riley. Both would be feasts for my story-hungry soul.

But I have another idea on my mind. Many of you might already have thought of this one, if you don’t hate it, of course. Maybe Simon Riley is revealed to be the very first Ghost. The ultimate legend who gave birth to the concept. Maybe add some original Modern Warfare feel.

Some say it’s also a reboot; that’s both good and bad. Maybe they’ll give it a little twist and turn an already perfect product into a bad one. Or maybe this time it’ll be all about Simon Riley, which I’ll appreciate.

But they need to keep it human even if it’ll take place in a near-future world devastated by ODIN. It was good for Activision to go in a more advanced direction, bringing robots and all, but that’s not really what Call of Duty fans remember. They look good with Astro Bot, not with the beloved military shooter.

When those YouTubers tell their teenage fanboys that this game is bad, they are supposed to believe it. They don’t even have the capacity to make opinions, so what more can we expect? This is a world of men, and Activision made fire kids couldn’t stand.

And then there are ‘experts’ who haven’t even played a game, watch those ranting videos, make an opinion, and post it on the Internet. You are supposed to live it. And then make an opinion about it. Of course, if you’re not already in it looking for flaws.

I want to thank the series’ video games that actually made the beloved military shooter a bad one. There was a gem hiding in the shadows, and such games helped bring it into the light. Hopefully that’ll make them play it again, and, if we are lucky, we will get a much-needed sequel of the game soon.
