New home builder Geranium has joined with City of Pickering and Durham Region officials to announce the start of home construction for Clarehaven Estates in Claremont, North Pickering.

According to the builder, Clarehaven Estates was the fastest selling luxury low-rise community in the GTA with homes priced over $2 million in 2023/24.

Sixty percent of the 70 homes were sold between October 2023 and March 2024, and to date, 68 of 70 lots have been sold with construction underway.

In remarks at the ceremony held August 15, Cheryl Shindruk, executive vice president at Geranium, highlighted the strong demand for spacious homes — Clarehaven Estates features expansive 100’ x 300’ lots, is nestled in a picturesque countryside and located amidst abundant amenities, says the builder.

“With the strong market response and successful sales program, we are pleased to commence construction and are aiming to begin welcoming new residents in the fall of 2025 and complete home closings by the end of 2026,” she said.

Clarehaven Estates features a collection of bungalows, bungalow-lofts, and two-storey homes in traditional, transitional, and contemporary architectural styles with diverse layouts that balance private sanctuaries with communal areas.

Originally priced from $2.3 million, Clarehaven Estates attracts buyers including families looking to upgrade to homes capable of comfortably accommodating multiple generations.

“The commencement of Clarehaven Estates marks an important step in bringing more housing supply and diversity to Pickering,” said Mayor Kevn Ashe, speaking at the celebration.

“Pickering is slated to be one of the fastest growing municipalities in the Region, and this neighbourhood will welcome families and community members who are seeking this unique collection of housing types.”

Homes range from 2,557 to 5,149 sq. ft., offering a variety of features such as elevators, ground floor primary and guest suites, dedicated office spaces and spacious five-bedroom layouts.

This fall, Geranium will launch sales of Belwood Estates, a prestigious estate home community nestled in the picturesque Fergus/Elora area, west of the GTA.
