Police in Gatineau issued a missing person notice on Friday for a 12-year-old boy named Taher Alzunni.

A news release said he was reportedly last seen Thursday around 5 p.m. as he left his family’s home located in the Touraine district of Gatineau on foot.

Taher was described as standing five feet two inches (1.57 metres) tall and weighing 110 pounds (50 kilograms) with black hair and brown eyes.

When last seen, he was wearing a blue T-shirt and black pants.

Anyone with information about his whereabouts was asked to contact Gatineau police at 819-246-0222.
