Four people have been rescued from the water and six others remain unaccounted for around 10 nautical miles southwest of Vancouver International Airport on Sunday.

The Joint Rescue Coordination Centre was notified at 11:45 a.m. by a civilian vessel of several people in the water without flotation devices near Sea Island, according to a statement from Capt. Pedram Mohyeddin.

As of 3:15 p.m., six people are believed to still be in the water while those rescued have been transferred to emergency health services.
