If you are at that point in your Subnautica 2 gameplay where shielded Bloom Cankers are blocking your path, you already know it’s time for an upgrade. Your basic Sonic Resonator isn’t going to cut it anymore, and its upgrade, the Feedback Resonator, is what you need, and getting it might just prove to be a challenge for some.
You will come across the need for this tool right around mid-game, and to get it, you’d need to scan two fragments of it lying around before you can head back to the fabricator and start crafting it.

Unlocking the Feedback Resonator requires the player to scan two separate fragments that can be found lying around. However, two of the most accessible ones are located in later-game areas, more particularly at the Karakorum Metal Farms, which is where you also head to grab some Troilite in the game.
To get to the general location of the fragments first, start by heading to the said Metal Farms by going about 850 meters northeast to east of the Alien Ruins marker and 450 meters deep. You will be able to recognise that you are in the right place as soon as you spot a glowing, large pool of yellow-green ooze surrounded in all directions by ruined industrial structures.
You will find the first Feedback Resonator fragment right beside the first pool you encounter as you enter the area. The second fragment, however, can be found by crossing both the ooze pools and heading more directly towards the east, where on the second ridge, you will find a table with random equipment and the second fragment.
You can also track the exact location of the fragments by using their coordinates and matching them with yours, which can be seen after pressing the Esc key and looking for your present coordinates in the bottom right of the pause menu.
| Fragment | Location | Coordinates |
| 1st Fragment | Found right beside the first ooze pool at the Karakorum Metal Farms. | -134750, 395262, -47279 |
| 2nd Fragment | After collecting the first one, head directly east and cross the two pools before heading to the second ridge with a table on it. | -115900, 394629, -42740 |
Before you go, make sure you have the basic Sonic Resonator in your inventory, as it is the most important ingredient in the final crafting recipe. You also need the Tadpole Depth Module Mk I installed on your vehicle before you attempt to reach the location.
How to Craft the Feedback Resonator
Here’s how to craft the Feedback Resonator | Credit: Unknown WorldsOnce you have scanned all the fragments, putting together the Feedback Resonator is easier than you might guess. Head to the Modification Station, found under the Prototype Tool category, to assemble the upgrade, which will require the following items:
- 1x Sonic Resonator
- 2x Enameled Glass
- 2x Conduit Crystal
- 2x Strontium
With all the material assembled, the Feedback Resonator can be built. The upgrade transforms the Sonic Resonator into a ranged tool capable of firing projectiles that can destroy reinforced Bloom Cankers from a distance, helping you tons in mid-late game stages.
