Pauley Perrette is a former actress and singer who found renowned fame and critical acclaim for starring in one of the most iconic TV shows of all time. The actress was one of the leading cast members of the American show NCIS.

Pauley Perrette is a part of the DCAM
It was the year 2003 when an iconic American show titled NCIS aired on television for the first time. As the name suggests, it was about a team of fictional special agents who specialized in solving crimes.
Pauley Perrette portrayed an iconic character by the name of NCIS Forensic Specialist Abby Sciuto. Portraying the role for 15 whopping seasons, the show gave her immense fame and critical acclaim.
What many people might not know is that the iconic former actress also voiced the character of Lois Lane in a 2012 animated DC film. The film was directed by Michael Cheng, and George Newburn reprised his role from the DCAU as Superman.
Titled Superman vs. The Elite, the film became an underrated gem since it did not do too well commercially. However, the film had an intense plotline and found a cult-like popularity among fans. Pauley Perrette voiced the pivotal role of Lois Lane in the iconic animated film and people loved her for that.
With NCIS, Perrette was doing pretty good career-wise but after the 15th season, she decided to leave the show. It might have something to do with a certain co-star and his dog’s behavior on-set.
Why Pauley Perrette decided to leave NCIS?
According to the show, Perrette’s Abby Sciuto resigns after an assassination attempt. It was an emotional moment on the show, with Sciuto meeting everyone for the last time and leaving the audience with tears in their eyes. However, she does not meet one particular character on-screen.
Mark Harmon’s Jethro Gibbs receives a letter from Sciuto in the show as she decided not to work with Harmon anymore. According to Collider, it was because of a certain incident involving Mark Harmon’s dog and one unfortunate crew member.
According to the report, the two had a number of clashes in 2016 when Harmon brought his dog on the sets. His dog bit a crew member and they had to get 15 stitches as a result. This was very unprofessional behavior on Harmon’s side and as a result, Perrette simply decided that enough was enough.
The actress even shared (via Collider) that she was not going to come back to NCIS or work with Harmon ever again.
NO I AM NOT COMING BACK! EVER! (Please stop asking?) I am terrified of Harmon and him attacking me. I have nightmares about it. I have a new show that is SAFE AND HAPPY! You’ll love it! #HappyPlace Love y’all!
Although the show is currently in its 22nd season, the popularity of NCIS has declined drastically. After the show, Pauley Perrette starred in a series called Broke, which stopped airing in 2020.
With Pauley Perrette starring in the first 15 seasons, NCIS currently stands at a rating of 7.8/10 on IMDb and an average of 61% on Rotten Tomatoes. The show is available to stream on Paramount+ in the U.S.
