Eminem’s ex-wife Kim Scott’s turbulent year has taken a frightening new turn. The 51-year-old was rushed to a Michigan hospital after suffering a medical emergency at her home over the weekend, just weeks after a series of legal troubles placed her back in the headlines. 

The sudden hospitalization has intensified concern surrounding Scott as she continues to navigate legal troubles tied to multiple alleged DUI-related cases that have kept her in the public eye.

Eminem’s Ex Suffers Medical Emergency At Michigan Home

Emergency responders were dispatched to Eminem’s ex-wife’s Michigan residence Saturday evening after authorities received a distress call reporting that someone was “unconscious” or “fainting.”

According to TMZ, Chesterfield Police Department officers and EMS personnel arrived at the home shortly after 8 p.m. 

A Chesterfield Fire/EMS report later obtained by the outlet indicated Scott had suffered a reported “hemorrhage/laceration.”

Witnesses saw Scott being wheeled from the property on a gurney before paramedics transported her by ambulance to McLaren Macomb Hospital for treatment.

Scott Had Been Facing Mounting Legal Problems Before Hospitalization

The hospitalization comes against the backdrop of an increasingly complicated legal situation that has unfolded over the past several months.

On May 11, Eminem’s ex-wife entered a no-contest plea after prosecutors alleged she operated a vehicle while impaired and failed to stop following a collision. 

The charges stemmed from a February 16 crash in which authorities claimed the Range Rover she was driving struck a parked pickup truck with enough force to push it more than 50 feet.

Prosecutors further alleged Scott left the scene without reporting the crash and was impaired at the time. Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido addressed the case by warning, “Driving under the influence is not a lapse in judgment—it is a deliberate decision that puts every person on the road at risk.”

He continued, “Choosing to drive impaired is choosing to endanger others, and we will continue to hold those who make that choice fully accountable.”

Although Scott’s no-contest plea carried the same legal effect as a guilty plea, it allowed the misdemeanor charges to be resolved without a formal admission of guilt.

Eminem’s Ex Was Arrested Again Just Days After Entering Her Plea

Scott’s legal troubles escalated almost immediately after resolving the first case. Just three days after entering her plea, she was arrested following another alleged crash involving a parked vehicle near Detroit.

The authorities told Page Six that Scott appeared to be stumbling when officers arrived and later registered a blood alcohol concentration of .204%, nearly three times Michigan’s legal limit. 

Authorities also alleged she smelled of alcohol and acknowledged drinking several hours before the incident. 

Despite the allegations, investigators noted that Scott remained cooperative throughout the encounter.

Scott Missed Court Hearing As Legal Issues Continued To Grow

The legal complications didn’t stop with the second arrest. In June, Eminem’s former wife was scheduled to appear before Judge William H. Hackel III in Macomb County District Court, but officials confirmed she failed to attend the hearing.

Following her absence, her bond was set at $10,000. Reports later revealed that prosecutors requested a bench warrant after Scott did not appear and also sought to have her pretrial release bond forfeited. 

At the time, she had not been taken back into custody, leaving the case unresolved while legal proceedings continued.

As concerns grow over Scott’s health, renewed attention has also turned to the complicated relationship that made her one of the most recognizable figures in Eminem’s personal life. 

The former couple first met as teenagers in Michigan after Scott and her twin sister, Dawn, ran away from home and eventually stayed with the Grammy Award winner and his mother. 

Their friendship soon developed into an on-again, off-again romance that lasted for years before they welcomed their daughter, Hailie Jade, on Christmas Day in 1995.   

The pair finally tied the knot on June 14, 1999, but their marriage ended in divorce in October 2001 amid constant public scrutiny and personal struggles. 

They attempted to rekindle their relationship years later, remarrying in a private Michigan ceremony on January 14, 2006, only to separate again a few months later, with their second divorce finalized that December.   

Despite their turbulent romance, Scott and Eminem remained committed to raising their blended family, co-parenting Hailie while also caring for Alaina, Scott’s niece whom Eminem adopted, and Stevie Laine, Scott’s child whom the rapper also legally adopted.
