Elversberg coach Wagner sees red card overturned ahead of Bayern test

The 40-year-old's red card suspension has been overturned after an error was made resulting in his dismissal - he will now be present for Elversberg's clash with FC Bayern on Sunday.

As confirmed by the club on Friday, head coach Vincent Wagner will be in charge of the Elversberg team on Sunday.

His red card suspension he received midway through their 4-3 victory over Borussia Mönchengladbach has been lifted. 

The DFB sports court, during its oral hearing in Frankfurt on Friday, concluded that there had been a misinterpretation of the situation.

Said misinterpreted incident last Saturday led to the sending-off. Based on this error, the suspension decision was reversed.

As a result, Wagner will be in charge from the dugout as the Saarland club faces another big challenge in the form of FC Bayern Munich.

"The lads should have fun, they should be courageous, but above all, we need consistency defensively," said assistant coach Pascal Bieler, 

“I'm convinced that the fans, the whole community, are fully behind us and are looking forward to a great game.

We want to bring all of that onto the pitch and put on a good performance," he added, looking forward to Sunday's clash with the champions.
