Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero – How to Get Super Dragon Balls and Summon Super Shenron

To collect all the characters in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero, it is important to know how to get Super Dragon Balls and summon the Golden Dragon. Collecting Dragon Balls has been part of several games in the franchise, and it allows the player to wish upon some unique items and gear.

There are a few methods by which players can acquire Super Dragon Balls in Sparking Zero, but some are more useful than others. We’ll be going over the various methods in this guide and also some of the better wishes you can use when you finally summon your dragon.

How to Get Super Dragon Balls in Sparking Zero

Aside from Episodic Battles, it’s not easy to find these variants.

To get the Super Dragon Balls and summon Super Shenron, players will need to complete story mode battles or compete in Tournaments to farm these collectibles. Dragon Ball Sparking Zero features a robust story mode selection, featuring several characters and also bonus battles. There is an entire section of “What If?” battles as well that depart from the traditional anime and give us a glimpse at some alternate narrative scenarios.

The first, and most guaranteed, method to acquire Super Dragon Balls in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero is to have purchased the Ultimate Edition of the game. This might seem a bit unfair, but you get what you pay for, and you’ll start the game with a full set of Super Dragon Balls with which you can instantly summon Super Shenron. You will also get a bunch of other goodies, along with the game that is breathing new life into the franchise.

However, even if you have purchased the normal edition of the game, you don’t need to feel disheartened. You can earn two sets of Super Dragon Balls by completing the Episode Battles for both Goku and Future Trunks. A play-through of both these narratives will give you an entire set, but this method cannot be used for farming. Once you have acquired the sets and made your wishes, you can’t acquire them again.

The final way to get them is to take part in the Tournament of Power. You can set up the rules of the matches and choose whether you wish to play online or offline. Even if you win the Tournament, you are not guaranteed to get one, even if you’re the champion. The drop rate for these collectibles is even lower than those required to summon Porunga, so you may be grinding away at this mode for a while before you have a full set.

How to Summon Super Shenron and What Wishes Does He Grant

Super Shenron is impressive, but players won’t be seeing him very often.

Once you have all seven, you can summon Super Shenron by visiting the “Come Forth…” page of the game’s main menu. Here, you will see the options to summon Shenron, Prounga, or Super Shenron. These selections will also show how many Dragon Balls for each summon you have collected so far. Small details such as these are why Bandai Namco may become the dominant gaming force in 2024.

While Porunga can grant you three wishes at once, both Shenron and Super Shenron can only fulfill a single wish per summon. However, while Shenron’s wishes might not be the most stellar choices, the only way to get Goku Black and Fused Zamasu (without spending Zeni) as playable fighters is to summon them via Super Shenron. You can make the following wishes of Super Shenron:

Once the player makes their wish, the Dragon Balls will scatter once more. Players can also only hold one set of seven at any given time.

So if you’ve acquired a full set to summon Shenron, you won’t acquire any more new ones until you make a wish and disperse them.
