DFB chief Watzke reveals there are "hurdles to overcome" to make Klopp coach

The vice president revealed that it won't be straightforward to bring Leipzig's head of global soccer in as the German national team head coach.

DFB (Germany Football Association) vice president Hans-Joachim Watzke says Jürgen Klopp as Germany head coach is not complete. 

“This is not a done deal yet. There are still hurdles to overcome," Watzke, who worked with Klopp at Borussia Dortmund, told ZDF.

"Especially considering that he has a contract at RB [Leipzig]. I'm a bit more skeptical [about getting him out of his contract] than others.

"I'm convinced the chances are higher than 50%, but that doesn't mean it's 100%. Jürgen is our plan A and we want to implement our plan.

There are problems to be solved. Jürgen's willingness to solve these problems is a significant help. Of course, we have our [financial] limits.

“We expect, or rather I expect, a slight 'patriotism discount' from Jürgen in particular. I know that he loves Germany,” Watzke added.
