Denise Richards stands by her leather court look: ‘I don’t have a lot of suits’

Denise Richards is standing by her love of leather.

Though the actress raised eyebrows after opting for a black leather skirt for her court appearance back in February, she recently responded on Instagram, weighing in on the choice.

The 55-year-old shared a “Get Ready With Me” video on social media months later, detailing her process before heading to face her estranged husband Aaron Phypers.

She begins in a bathrobe, laughing, “It’s 4 o’clock in the morning … don’t I look wonderful?”

“Trying to figure out what to wear to court is very … not easy,” she states, acknowledging the intense scrutiny that the event elicits.

The “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star adds that glam and wardrobe are important on that specific day because “the person I’m divorcing likes to make sure that the press is there.”

But, “believe it or not, I don’t have a lot of suits,” she jokes.

As Richards slips into a black long-sleeve bodysuit and black leather Gucci pencil skirt, she shares, “I know some people commented before that I wore leather, but I like this little leather Gucci skirt. It’s a pencil skirt, so it’s conservative.”

Fans were supportive in the comment section. “Denise, you look absolutely stunning! 🔥❤️ You walk into that court like the Queen 👸🏻 you are with that hot leather skirt because you’re a boss,” said one.

Another wrote, “You could walk up to the courthouse just how you look in the bathrobe with no makeup and you still look fabulous!!!”

Back in April, as the estranged couple’s legal battle dragged on, a California court judge ruled that the Creditors Adjustment Bureau was not legally authorized to go after Richards’ “wages and other assets” in order to satisfy Phypers’ debt.

Phypers filed for divorce from Richards last summer and the reality saar was subsequently granted a permanent restraining order against him, alleging abuse during the marriage, which Phypers denied.
