The singer took to Instagram to reveal he recently underwent a kidney transplant and is recovering nicely.
“I thought you should know that I recently received a kidney transplant from a very kind and generous living donor,” he wrote in Tuesday’s post.
“It happened a couple of weeks ago, and I’m already starting to feel better,” he detailed. “It was, according to my doctors, a complete success.”
Hall, 79, also teased his upcoming return, just as soon as he’s ready to rock the stage.
“I should be back to normal in a few months, so get ready for more music and lots of Daryl’s House shows,” the “Dreamtime” singer added. “You all take care.”
A living donation comes from a person who freely decides to donate one of their kidneys to someone in need of a transplant, according to the Kidney Foundation of Canada.
Hall did not share any details about the transplant or the donor, so it is unclear whether he received the organ from someone already in his life or a stranger.

Previous health issues
The “Can’t Say No to You” singer has previously spoken about his battle with Lyme disease, which he was diagnosed with in 2006 — six years after he was infected, per the Bay Area Lyme Foundation.
“I have good days and bad days. I was fine for four months then I might have tremors, headaches, fatigue. It’s like a roving street gang of germs,” he said in an interview with the Portsmouth Herald two years after his diagnosis, noting he had to cancel concert dates following the Lyme disease discovery.
That same year, he sat down with Fox News to discuss the disease, calling it “serious stuff,” adding that he didn’t think people grasped just how debilitating it can be.
“It’s serious stuff. I don’t think people really understand,” he said at the time.

Hall revealed that prior to learning his diagnosis, he was suffering from all kinds of mysterious ailments, including tremors, that were initially chalked up to him having the flu.
“I was inundating myself with antibiotics, basically. I had six months where I couldn’t much do anything,” he explained.

“Somehow, I don’t know, through willpower, through good medical whatever, just luck, various things, I got myself back together again,” Hall said. “I’m on the road to recovery and I’m in pretty good shape right now.”
