When Christopher Nolan had to do voice dubbing

It is not an everyday sight when you get to see a veteran director go into the record studio, dub a single dialogue, and leave. But it was the case for Christopher Nolan while working on the 2000 film Memento.

Starring Guy Pearce in the lead role, the film follows an insurance investigator who goes on a hunt to find the person who he thinks killed his wife. Being a thriller film, Memento was a roaring success and the dialogues were on-point.

In one confrontation scene, Joe Pantoliano’s character states “You freak” to Guy Pearce. Although the shooting was done, Nolan didn’t really like how the dialogue was said. According to a report by People, Chris Nolan decided to take charge himself.

Nolan reportedly dubbed that particular line “You freak” himself and that voice was used in the final version of the film. It’s not an easy task having a career as great as Christopher Nolan’s. Speaking of a career, Nolan’s next big project seems exciting.
