PGA Tour star and world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler’s caddie Ted Scott banked more than $5 million US as his boss racked up more than $62 million in winnings this season.

Easy money, you say?

Well, at least one social media troll thought so, saying a “caddie is the most overrated ‘job’ in history. There are literally 10M people in the US that could do Ted’s job.”

That sentiment earned a response from Scott, according to the Daily Mail.

Scott (golf) clapped back at Golfguy7575 on X, suggesting “not everyone would want to spend time with you because you’re negative and tweet mean stuff. So that leaves 9,999,999 that could do my ‘job.'”

Veteran PGA Tour caddie Kip Henly started the exchange with a light-hearted post on X, suggesting he pay Scott to take over his job next year.

“I will pay @jtedscott 1.5million dollars to let me caddie for him next year,” Henly said in the post. “That’s risky but I think it’s a solid plan. Teddy Boy can sit on the couch and not have to worry about stepping in a hole and spranging [sic] an ankle. Thats fair.”

Scott carried Scheffler’s bag and helped him earn more than $62 million on tour this season.

Scheffler won seven tournaments, including the Masters, for the most victories in a season since Tiger Woods did it in 2007. He also won the FedEx Cup title, which earned him a $25-million bonus, and the gold medal at the Paris Olympics.
