Ontario Provincial Police highway patrols had a busy shift Thursday night into Friday morning in Eastern Ontario, charging three drivers in that 12-hour period with impaired driving-related charges and a fourth with dangerous operation of a vehicle.

The suspect vehicle was tracked down. Artem Zubenkov, 38, of Ottawa, now faces two impaired driving charges and a third charge of driving with liquor readily available.

Just before 12:30 a.m. Friday, officers at a RIDE checkpoint on the Anderson Road off-ramp from Highway 417 arrested Marc Bosse, 51, of Ottawa.

He faces two impaired driving charges.

And just before 1 a.m., a 50-year-old Ottawa woman was stopped for speeding on Highway 417.

Sandra Loaiza Galeano was charged with:

  • Fail to have insurance card
  • Speeding: 50+ km/h over the posted speed limit

Each of the accused received a 90-day administrative driver’s licence suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment.

Meanwhile, in another bust, OPP hauled in a driver for stunt driving on Highway 417 near Terry Fox Drive shortly before 8:30 p.m. on Thursday.

That driver had their licence suspended for 30 days and had their vehicle impounded for 14 days.

They were also charged criminally for dangerous operation due to the excessively high speed. The driver faces a minimum $2,000 fine, six demerit points and a one-year driving prohibition, as well as the possibility of a criminal record, upon conviction.
