Ever since Marvel re-attained the rights to the X-Men franchise back in 2019, fans have been eagerly waiting to see their favorite mutants make a comeback to the big screen. After 5 years, the studio has still not revealed any plans for the super team yet. However, that hasn’t stopped MCU fans from sharing their thoughts on which stars could be the perfect fit for some of the beloved characters. In fact, shortly after Sydney Sweeney’s Madame Web, everyone agreed that she would’ve been the right choice for another role in the mutant franchise.

Now, eagle-eyed fans have found the perfect role for Bryce Dallas Howard to take up an iconic role in the new era of the X-Men.

Marvel fans cast Bryce Dallas Howard as an X-Men key player

Recently, Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman’s Deadpool & Wolverine increased the hype for what the future of the X-Men could look like. While Marvel has stayed rather mum on their plans, a digital artist on Instagram, Daniel Savage, took it upon himself to create the most accurate fan casting: Bryce Dallas Howard as the powerful mutant, Jean Grey.

The concept art showed Howard in a striking blue and gold suit with some hints of red. Although it did not completely fit the bill of the mutant’s usual outfits, the star was surrounded by hues of purple as she reined in her telepathic powers. With the 43-year-old’s red hair, light eyes, and jaw-dropping facial features, she wound up being a fan favorite pick for Jean Grey.

The Black Mirror star isn’t the first one to catch the attention of Marvel fans. In fact, Sydney Sweeney also ended up being dragged into an X-Men fan cast just shortly after news broke that she could potentially be playing Black Cat in Spider-Man 4.

Who do fans want Sydney Sweeney to play in the X-Men?

Earlier this year, MCU fans were let down when Sydney Sweeney debuted her first superhero role in Madame Web. Even though she played an iteration of Spider-Man, Julia Cornwall, not everyone was happy about it. In fact, after that fans called for the 27-year-old to be cast as Black Cat in Tom Holland’s Spider-Man 4. However, they ended up changing their minds again.

Instead of playing the daughter of a world-renowned cat burglar, Walter Hardy, fans on Reddit wanted Sweeney to play the X-Men’s Emma Frost. The casting could bring a fresh, captivating take on the iconic character once played by January Jones. With the actress demonstrating the ability to embody layered, emotionally intense characters, the White Queen of the Hellfire Club could be perfect for her. However, some fans believe the actress might be too young to play the part.

After all, Frost is one of Marvel’s most complex anti-heroines—intelligent, ruthless, and powerful. With Sweeney taking on such a huge role, fans will get the chance to see her in a new light. It could even end up offering a blend of youthful energy and fierce determination, perfectly suited for Marvel’s next generation of mutants.
