Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 37 may have delivered the funniest example yet of how protected Jura has become. While Sarada, Code, and Hidari are caught in a dangerous confrontation, Jura is nowhere near the action. He is casually browsing a Konoha bookstore, buying books about cats and trying to understand what friendship means.
Jura is not being treated like an ordinary villain who can simply be thrown into another fight. Instead, the heroes are actively trying to keep him occupied because his presence could completely change the situation. For many fans, that is peak “Jura glaze” in this chapter.
Jura’s Chapter 37 Treatment Shows Why He Is So Special in Boruto
Jura from Boruto | Credits: ShueishaChapter 37, officially titled “Trust,” makes Jura’s absence from the main battle surprisingly important. While Sarada is being held at the Divine Tree hideout, Jura is in Konoha looking for books about cats because he wants to understand Hidari better. The owner calls Hidari his friend, making Jura think about their relationship.
It is an unexpectedly funny scene for a character who has been presented as one of the Shinju’s most dangerous members. He is genuinely curious, asking questions and trying to understand human relationships. Shikamaru and the others learn that Jura is in Konoha. Kashin Koji tells Boruto that he intends to keep Jura in Konoha for as long as possible, since having Jura away from the confrontation gives Boruto a better chance of reaching Sarada.
That is where the “Jura glaze” becomes especially funny. The heroes are trying to prevent him from returning to the battlefield at the wrong moment in the crisis. Shikamaru ultimately contacts the bookstore owner and asks him to keep Jura occupied for as long as possible, telling him that the fate of all humanity rests on his cooperation. The chapter therefore gives Jura an unusual combination of menace and charm. He can be the character everyone wants nowhere near the battlefield, then spend the next moment quietly buying cat books. Chapter 37 turns that contrast into one of the series’ most memorable Jura scenes.
Kakashi and Itachi Set the Standard for Kishimoto’s Glazing
Calling it “Kishimoto glazing” is fan language rather than an official description. Still, Naruto has a long history of giving certain characters extraordinary amounts of attention, and Kakashi and Itachi are two obvious examples. Both began as important supporting characters, yet the story repeatedly found reasons to place them at the center of major moments.
Kakashi was already established as Team 7’s experienced teacher, but his role kept expanding. His Sharingan became central to several major battles, while Kamui eventually made him one of the war’s most dangerous fighters. The Fourth Great Ninja War also gave him major emotional material involving Obito and his father, Sakumo Hatake. During the final battle, Kakashi temporarily received both of Obito’s Mangekyo Sharingan and used their combined power to manifest a Complete Body Susanoo.
Itachi, Kishimoto’s golden child, received an equally elaborate character arc. He was introduced as Sasuke’s terrifying older brother, only for later revelations to change how readers understood his actions. His reputation as a prodigy was reinforced by Tsukuyomi, Amaterasu, and Susanoo, while his confrontation with Sasuke became one of Naruto’s biggest emotional battles. His Edo Tensei return then gave him another major role, including his battle alongside Sasuke against Kabuto and his use of Izanami.
That is why the Jura comparison feels familiar. The chapter does show the kind of character treatment that fans have jokingly associated with Kakashi and Itachi for years: make the character powerful, make them fascinating, give them personality, and make everyone else plan around them.
